Ethical dilemmas in clinical practice are rarely clear-cut. This training equips clinicians with practical tools to navigate complex, real-world situations with confidence and integrity.
Participants will explore key ethical challenges related to boundaries, confidentiality, diagnosis, and emerging issues such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice. Through case-based discussion and applied scenarios, clinicians will strengthen their ability to make sound ethical decisions across a variety of settings.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify and differentiate between boundary crossings and boundary violations in clinical practice.
- Apply an ethical decision-making model to complex clinical scenarios involving confidentiality, multiple relationships, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate ethical considerations related to informed consent and confidentiality in individual, group, and family counseling settings.
- Analyze ethical challenges in diagnosis, competence, and treatment planning.
- Demonstrate appropriate use of consultation and referral when addressing ethical dilemmas.

Presenters
Keri L. Corn, LPC
Keri L. Corn is the Director of Training at GROW Counseling and Training Center, where she develops and facilitates educational programming for clinicians. She has clinical experience in trauma and couples counseling and is trained in EMDR, ART, and EFT. Keri brings over 20 years of experience in teaching and public speaking and is passionate about equipping clinicians with practical, applicable tools for ethical and effective care.
Chris Simon, LPC, CSAT-S, CMAT-S
Chris Simon is the Executive and Clinical Director of GROW Counseling and Training Center and a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of compulsive sexual behavior and betrayal trauma. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor and serves as faculty with IITAP, where he trains clinicians across the country. Chris is known for translating complex clinical concepts into practical frameworks that enhance both clinical competence and ethical practice.
